Villamartin is an upmarket area and is in an excellent location for many golf courses. There are very good local amenities including bars, restaurants, boutiques, supermarkets and banks.

The Villamartin Plaza boasts over 20 restaurants: Italian, English, German, Spanish, Mexican, Austrian, Chinese, etc. They serve food both indoors and in the summer months outdoors in the impressive courtyard.

Torrevieja

The coastal town of Torrevieja is situated about 45 kms south of Alicante on the Costa Blanca. It is an old fishing town with it's own harbour and fishing fleet and is busy all year round. You will find lots of shops, great restaurants, a large selection of bars and nightlife.

On Fridays there is a market (which is one of the largest in Europe) and here you will find genuine Spanish handicrafts, leather goods, shoes, textiles, silver and a huge variety of fresh local produce.

The coast has many beaches of fine sand, 7 of which are EU Blue Flag beaches providing clean and safe fun for all the family.

Torrevieja has an average of 320 days a year of sunshine. The World Health Organisation recommends Torrevieja as having one of the healthiest climates in the world. This is caused by the combination of constant year round warm temperatures and the two huge salt lakes at the edge of town, rich in minerals.

Torrevieja has a superb selection of sports, including sailing, diving, tennis, bowls, athletics, football and a gymnasium. Boat rides and fishing trips are also available from the port of Torrevieja.
